The Moors Murders took place very close to where Morrissey used to live as a kid - similar age as Hyndley's and Ian Brady's victims, definitely leaving marks in years to come, and visibly influencing his writings ('"you can pin and mount me, like a butterfly", Reel around the Fountain)
