Thomas Engel Hart S/S 11 - Berlin Fashion Week

Thomas Engel Hart showed his Spring Summer 2011 collection as a guest of Berlin Fashion Week, initiated by IMG and Mercedes. Engel Hart has never really been a fan of catwalk show, he always favored static presentation in the past, but he might change his mind after this one. The look is back to the label's historic DNA, rock'n'roll ( and you should imagine this said with the original mix of New York and South Carolina 's accent that probably only Engel Hart has ).
Early rock influences it is for next summer, a mood close to the 60's, with surfing touch in the all over prints, and mods feel with the small collar shirt in bicolor fabrics or with savant patch combinations on just short enough straight trousers and combat-shaped shorts. First time modeling Alexander opened and closed the show ,and already seeing him on Hedi Slimane's diary blog predicts it's the beginning for this strong look German boy, along with a perfectly fitting casting of clean but strong slicked haired men making this probably the most interesting show of the whole Berlin Fashion Week. One would die for most of the shirts of the collections and the cut out drill or denim jackets promise to be on every one's wanted list. But that's not all, as full of surprises as Engel Hart can be, it had to be be something more and the introduction of a first time ever womenswear capsule with 3 looks in the show consisting of shirt dresses, cut out sleeveless coats or vinyl geometrical skirts opened a whole lot of possibilities for the Paris based American designer. Now we just can't wait to see more ....
