MKII is a creative studio complex hosting photography and video shoots, events, recordings, live music, art shows and community events. MKII is located in the heart of Lower Clapton.
Clients & Artists have included: Telegraph, Wire, Dazed & Confused, Cat Stevens, Fred Perry, Wallpaper*, Kathryn Ferguson, Alexander Tucker, Sunday Times, Another, Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen, Gum Takes Tooth, Zoo, Sanna Charles, Donald Christie, NME, Observer music monthly, One Little Indian, Hotch Potch, Duke Garwood, Araar and many more....

MKII is hosting a music based photo show on the 28th May 2010. The Show entitled ‘The Sound not the Star’ will showcase photography of bands, musicians, fans or their musical community without ever showing the face of the artist. The photographs should interpret or suggest the identity, sound, style or universe of the artist rather than display a ‘pretty face’. Furthermore, for the opening the pictures will be grouped in sections through out the space and accompanied by a different audio set up playing a selection of music or songs to match the artists or scenes depicted in the images.

Submissions are accepted from now and emphasis is on lesser, well presented pieces (framed, mounted…) that follow the brief of creatively interpreted music photography. The show will have an opening reception on the 28th May and will be up for a month after which we are hosting an illustration show.
